Installing Dintero Checkout in Shopify

Dintero offers several Shopify apps to give you full flexibility in how you want to offer payments in your store. Below is a guide explaining what each app does, and when to use it.
Before you start: You must have an active Dintero account to use these apps, and you must have applied for payment methods through this account and received approval. Create an account or log in here if you haven't already.
How to install the apps (4 simple steps)
1. Go to the app links listed in this guide.
2. Click Install.
3. Connect your Dintero account in the pop-up window that appears.
4. Click Activate.
 
Available Dintero Apps
1. Dintero Companion
This app adds order line support for all other Dintero apps (Klarna, Vipps, Swish, cards, etc.). It ensures that all item details such as quantity, product name, VAT, and discounts are passed correctly to Dintero.

Highly Recommended
We strongly recommend installing the Companion app, especially if you use Klarna, Walley, or Billie, as these payment methods rely heavily on detailed order line information for authorization, capture, and refunds.
2. Dintero Checkout – Cards
Enables payments with Visa and Mastercard through Dintero.
3. Dintero Checkout – Klarna
Lets your customers pay with Klarna Pay Now, Pay Later, or Financing directly in your Shopify checkout.
4. Dintero Checkout – Vipps
Adds Vipps as a payment option in your Shopify checkout.
Only available for Norwegian customers
5. Dintero Checkout – Swish
Adds Swish as a payment option in your Shopify checkout.
Only available for Swedish customers
6. Dintero Checkout – Billie
Adds Billie as a payment option in your Shopify checkout.

Alternative: Dintero Checkout (Unified App)
This app combines all payment methods into a single payment option at checkout. When customers select this method, they are redirected to Dintero's secure payment page: checkout.dintero.com/session_id=xxxxxxxx.

When to use this app
We generally do not recommend using the unified Dintero Checkout app unless you have a specific need for presenting all Dintero options in one option at checkout.
Important when used for a single provider
If you choose to use this app for a single payment provider:
  • Go to Dintero Backoffice → Payment Profile and disable all other payment methods.
  • In Shopify, open the app settings and ensure only the desired method is active.
Recommended Setup
For most merchants, we recommend the following setup for the best and most seamless customer experience:
1. Install Dintero Companion (Crucial for correct order lines)
2. Install one or more of the standalone apps:
  • Dintero Checkout – Cards (Visa & Mastercard)
  • Dintero Checkout – Klarna (Pay Now, Pay Later)
  • Dintero Checkout – Vipps (Norway)
  • Dintero Checkout – Swish (Sweden)
  • Dintero Checkout – Billie (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark)
This ensures a seamless and reliable integration with all necessary order details and payment logic perfectly handled.
